Design for Transfer
The transfer of information from the learning experience to reality doesn’t happen by accident — it happens by design.
We’ve all seen it: learners complete a course-- but when it’s time to apply skills on the job, the knowledge isn't easily applied to the real-world. Learners feel hesitant, unsure, and simply: insecure. I don't know about you, but this made me feel inadequate as a learner. That's why as a learning designer today, I prefer to #keepitreal with learners.
Here’s the reality:
✅ Learning ≠ Transfer (Bransford & Schwartz, 1999)
✅ Transfer of skills requires intentional design for real-world application

Thank you for joining me today! Let’s keep learning altogether, as lifelong #LearningMatters.
