About Me
Contact & Credentials:
I’m Laura Lawson, an instructional systems designer who creates cutting-edge, engaging, accessible learning solutions that help people build knowledge, develop skills, and perform with confidence. I partner with organizations to design learning experiences that align business goals with meaningful learner outcomes.
Drawing on more than a decade of experience in education and learning design, I bring a unique combination of instructional expertise, creativity, and user empathy to every project. My background as an educator shaped my learner-centered approach, while my graduate studies in Learning, Design, and Technology from Arizona State University strengthened my ability to design evidence-based solutions backed by research for all audiences and environments.
My work spans the full learning design process—from addressing an initial request with a needs analysis, to gathering the research from various resources (e.g., SMEs), through curriculum development and the construction of a storyboard/script, instructional design (e.g., multimedia development, accessibility, and testing), through implementation of the project, leading to statistical evaluation. Grounded in Universal Design for Learning (UDL), accessibility best practices, adult learning theories, and human-centered design, I create courses, workshops, performance support resources, and learning ecosystems that drive measurable results while making learning more inclusive, engaging, and effective.
Whether collaborating with cross-functional teams, SMEs, or organizational leaders, my goal retains: to design learning experiences that improve performance, empower learners, and create a lasting impact for career growth.

We’ll begin with a discovery meeting to define your team’s learning and business goals. From there, I’ll collaborate with a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to gather content and insights. I’ll then create a detailed project plan and timeline to guide the process. We’ll schedule weekly or biweekly check-ins to review progress and discuss content prior to storyboard development. Stakeholders will review and approve each deliverable before we move to the next phase, ensuring alignment at every step.

“Project timelines typically range from 2 months to 9 months, depending on the scope, complexity, and type of learning solution needed. Smaller projects like job aids or microlearning modules can be delivered quickly, while comprehensive eLearning programs or full curriculum builds require more time. The sooner we connect, the sooner we can align on goals, finalize a plan, and begin development.

The cost of design services varies based on the scope, format, and complexity of your project. In our initial consultation, I’ll walk you through several tailored options—whether that’s eLearning development, instructional materials, or LMS integration. Once we identify the best approach for your team’s goals and timeline, I’ll provide a detailed proposal with pricing aligned to that strategy.
